About Anita

For over 30 years, Anita Dongre has played a pivotal role in India's fashion scene. She established her first brand in 1995 to bring contemporary fashion to Indian women. Today, her business employs 1400 people, over 1,000 stores across 4 countries, and online retail in 250 countries.

As the Chairwoman and Chief Creative Officer, she leads several brands, including Anita Dongre Couture, Grassroot, AND, and Global Desi. Committed to "Fashion For Good," the brand prioritises social and environmental.

Manufacturing

We meticulously select our manufacturing partners, giving preference to those who use zero-discharge washing units, practice rainwater harvesting, and implement LED lighting to reduce carbon emissions in their facilities.

Packaging

Anita Dongre's fashion house has taken a pioneering step by initiating a full-fledged plastic waste management initiative. Teaming up with Lucro Plastecycle, they are dedicated to recycling locally acquired plastic to create eco-friendly packaging solutions.

Respun

We have partnered with Respun, a company that recycles our fabric waste into fibers and yarns to create new products. Respun specializes in recycling end-of-use garments and textiles, preventing them from ending up in landfills. They transform these materials into items such as fibers, yarns, rugs, mats, felts, packing blankets, insulation, and thermal packaging.

Canopy

We are partnered with NGO Canopy to protect forests in our packaging and fabric choices and are part of both the CanopyStyle and Pack4Good initiatives.

Tencel Lyocell Fabric

TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres are regenerated cellulosic fibres renowned for their natural comfort and environmentally friendly closed-loop production process. They offer excellent quality, performance, and flexibility. Their distinct physical characteristics result in a strong and gentle profile, making them gentle on the skin and effective in managing moisture.

Modal Fabric

Modal fabric is highly sought-after for its sustainability and softness. It is derived from beech trees, which are a renewable resource, and the production process is designed to be eco-friendly. The fabric has a luxurious feel, drapes beautifully and has excellent moisture-wicking properties.
